Two Valis games were released for Japanese cellphones by Bandai's mobile networks division. They seem to be yet more remakes of the first two episodes, yet screenshots show enemies and stages not seen in any other Valis games. Both seem to offer quite a few costume options for Yuko, and at least in the second release, those come with their own "appropriate" weapons - Yuko is seen wielding a chainsaw in a wedding dress, a huge mallet in a maiden outfit, and a naginata in a kimono.
In 2004, Telenet came into ownership of the Japanese adult game download portal bb5.jp, and presumably to make the most of their new platform, they decided to sell off some of their popular franchises into prostitution at Eants, who specialized in visual novels of the naughty kind. But wait, maybe it's not as bad as it sounds? Maybe this is respectful. Maybe it's a well-crafted narrative with the sex scenes merely as an aside, like Yu-No. Maybe it's...
FIVE. GODDAMN. MINUTES. LATER.
No. Valis X (pronounced "Valis Cross" - more like Valis Gross) is filth of the worst order, full of bizarre fetish porn and misogynist bullshit. The series has never been overly prudish, but this fate is a bit much to stomach. Technically, it condenses together the events of the first three games, but things have been retconned so Cham and Valna can appear from the very beginning to have more female characters at hand to objectify and exploit. The game is divided into five episodes, one for each of the four female main characters - Yuko, Reiko, Cham and Valna, and a final one where the four of them team up for the big "showdown".
Being a visual novel, Valis X actually has a lot more room for dialog and character building than the action games. It's just kind of hard to get engaged in any of it when the next disturbing rape fantasy is always waiting just around the corner. Fans of the series must be thankful that the second mobile game exists, if only for the reason that it means this was not the last game ever in the Valis franchise.

Even after Telenet was closed down in 2007, Valis continued - not as a game, but as a manga mini-series of four volumes. Unfortunately, this seems to have taken quite a few hints from Valis X. It's all softcore here, but with the same messed up misogynist attitude and a weird fondness of cracking metal bras.
Apparently, there already was a Valis manga some time after the first game came out back in the 1980s, but it's so obscure that not even its release date is known.
Since 2009, Sunsoft owns all the old Telenet IPs, but although they announced plans to bring games to Nintendo's Virtual Console, the only two releases are Japanese exclusive for the PSN, where the PC Engine versions of Valis I and II are available. The only place to buy the rest of the Valis series remains the Japanese PC-based platform Project EGG. Two compilations have also been published under that label. Valis Complete from 2006 wasn't as complete as it claimed, though, and only contained the four PC Engine games, accompanied by a PVC figurine of Yuko and some other swag. In 2011, Valis Complete Plus added Valis SD and Super Valis, as well as two soundtrack CDs, but still lacks the home computer versions. This omission is all the more puzzling seeing how they are readily available on the Project EGG web store.
A compilation of a different kind was released by Laser Soft back in 1993. The Valis Visual Collection doesn't contain any games, but only all the cutscenes from the PC Engine versions of Valis II to IV - the remake of the first one is missing, as that was developed by Riot instead of Laser Soft.
