Taking a departure from its previous release (known as Legend of the Mystical
Ninja in America) this Japan-only sequel deviated from most of the RPG-style
elements a bit and changed the structure with a Super Mario World-esque overworld
map. The game is quite a bit more straightforward, but in some ways more
enjoyable too, as there's less money making to worry about. The graphics
are larger and as a cool addition, there are several first-person scenes
taking place in a gigantic robot, the Goemon Impact. All of these elements
blended together (plus a mini-game of the arcade-only shooter XEXEX) make this
my personal favorite Goemon game on the Super Famicom.
