The first (and only, until the later N64 and Gameboy incarnations) Goemon game to make it to the United States is regarded as one of the best games Konami released on the SNES. Taking the role of either Kid Ying or Dr. Yang, you control the characters through old Japan in order to find a missing princess and some evil counterfeiters. Side-scrolling action, RPG-style elements and cute mini-games blend to make an extremely enjoyable experience. However, the enemies attack much too quickly and in too large numbers, making the experience annoying unless you've powered up plenty. On a whole, Mystical Ninja is still an enjoyable and innovative game with a wacky sense of humor.
