for the HG101 Demoscene feature article by wildweasel Hey, I figure an article like this would need a lot of visual accompaniment, but a lot of these images could really use some context, so here's some captions I'd like to have placed underneath them. This list is also written in roughly the order I'd like to have them appear in the article. -ww Demoscene title.png - [[No caption, just the title is fine.]] Cracktro 1.png - One example of the earliest "cracktros" - no graphical effects involved, just the author's name added to the program's title screen. Munching squares (display hack).png - The "munching squares" display hack in action, currently available as an XScreensaver module for Linux. Boing Ball.png - The Amiga "Boing Ball" demo, as displayed at CES 1984 in Las Vegas. Amiga Juggler.png - The Juggler, a famous Amiga animation, displayed in the Amiga's rarely-used 4096-color "hold-and-modify" display mode. Cracktro 2.png - The cracktro image used by scene group Fairlight on a number of their releases. Scene artists often have a unique visual style commonly associated with the Amiga and its palette limitations. Amiga SoundTracker.png - SoundTracker, one of the many music composition programs employed by demoscene musicians like Jesper Kyd and Alexander Brandon. Hardwired (Amiga) 1.png - The introduction to "Hardwired" by Silents and Crionics. Hardwired (Amiga) 2.png - "Scrollers" were very common in demos in the late 80's and early 90's. This one has a pseudo-3D twisting effect. second reality 1.png - "Another way to scroll," from Future Crew's demo, Second Reality. kkrieger.png - In-game shot of .kkrieger, a first-person shooter with a Doom 3-like engine. This screenshot is eight times the size of the game itself.
