The Korean journal noted that coin-op video games had been made legal in India just recently, because the rich from Bombai, New Deli and Calcutta would go to Nepal to play at the casinos there, anyway. Amuse World also estimated the portion of the population that would have any money to spend on entertainment at only 20%; while games like Street Fighter II were a common sight in the cities, many people in the countryside had never even seen a video game in their live. The Taj Palace Hotel itself housed the most well-equipped arcade in all of India, popular machines were Daytona USA, Virtua Cop 2 and Time Crisis, a game was 20 rupees. |
